You are one amazing mama! Thanks for sharing this. I would read it all right now but need to get work done before the am. We will figure out plans pre-surgery...you deserve it!
I'm a freelance writer still learning about Mommyhood from my 5-year-old daughter and my 3-year-old son... For the last year and a half, we've been mired in the world of children's hospitals, hearing phrases like "major surgery," and "body cast," mingled among medical terms like "Coxa Vara," "Schmid" and "dwarfism" as geneticists, pediatric orthopedists and endocrinologists struggle to make sense of my son's skeletal irregularities. As they do that, my husband, children and I struggle to make sense of each new reality as it's presented at break-neck speed. In the past year, my daughter began to have seizure/migraine episodes.
I started this both for me and for other parents who are as confused as we are, and in hopes that we will connect with other parents who can help us along the way.
After a year of writing this blog, I have changed all of our names as my son enters preschool. Local friends, I ask that you please use discretion with your own children when addressing any issues that might arise regarding our situation. Thanks!
